Great spot for a coffee or to eat, and the orange cake...uff you have to try it!
Delicious food and such wonderful and helpful staff especially Ava. I went here twice during my short stay in Athens. Amazing coffee and good quality fresh food. Highly recommend to anyone around the area.
Located super close to our hotel (palladium home) at "food square" (it is the whole area and not the name of a restaurant which someone either mislabelled or just wanted to commend all the restaurants located here). After a very disappointing breakfast the day before, my mom and I were very happy to eat here. My club sandwich had perfectly toasted bread and my mom had 2 eggs over medium and bacon (ham). She said her meal was done superbly. The feta cheese was also fresh and light on my mom's salad (she can't eat dairy so I help remove it from her).We were also glad to see that not all greek pancakes were flat like crepes and drowned in syrup but rather elegantly drizzled with honey and fluffy as it should be. It was a drastic contrast to the breakfast we had to endure elsewhere in Plaka. They were opened early while most places were still closed so we might just go there again tomorrow before we head to our cruise. They also serve sandwiches for breakfast so brunch works before check out.We sat in the covered outdoor seating instead of inside the restaurant so don't have many pictures. My mom is very picky but enjoyed her meal so I can see why they have 4.8 stars. Great quality in breakfast items which is hard since a restaurant that does all 3 meals aren't always paying attention to how they cook their eggs in the morning. Never got a chance to try their dinner items, maybe next time if I visit Athens again.Update: second visit and the food is even better. Eggs were less runny on the over medium request and my mom's bread was warm this time. We did come earlier at 7:20 am versus 8:30 am but we noticed that both times it took 20-30 minutes to get our food after ordering. My mom thinks it is due to the fact that most people only do coffee while we ordered full breakfast items so the kitchen may not be prepped. I don't think this is the case but the food is always fresh and good.
Excellent location and the ONLY place I found that serves breakfast at 4:30 in the afternoon. Dimitra was SO nice and also efficient. Seating options inside, outside, behind and in the nice courtyard. Food was perfect and so was the price.
Delicious salads!! Amazing Espresso Martini (not on menu I asked for it). Also the music playing inside amazing such great vibe. Lightning is amazing
The reviews for Plakaki Cafe are well earned. Beautiful fresh food, coffee and service at a fair price. Amazing way to start or finish your day.
Plakaki Cafe was right around the corner from the hotel we were staying at, and I am so glad we decided to try it!We got the avocado toast and omelet, and they were both incredible! Amazing portions, the salad was fresh, the avocado was fresh, and the scrambled eggs on top were cooked perfectly to match the meal. The staff is friendly, the patio is beautiful, and they have AC units and fans outside to alleviate the summer heat.Perfect breakdown/brunch spot!
The place I actually was looking for. Centre of Athens but yet hidden. Has cold cuts plate with generous price. I found it nice and quiet. Would love to come back.
